\u2611Perfect. This game has not aged all that well. I'm only a few levels into the game and already I'm finding it to be a surprisingly slow, humorless, unexciting game with a little too much pride and one very unresponsive jump button.. This game should be in the Steam Starter Pack

-The world needs a Steam Starter Pack. Don't use a controller, that way you have less to throw at your computer.. As you may have heard, Super Meat Boy is a very difficult 2D platformer game. It’s very famous for its difficulty, in fact. However, difficulty doesn’t make a game, and Super Meat Boy is no exception to this rule. It’s also very fun..even if it may not seem like it if you die on a level enough.
The levels in this game are short, mostly fitting on one or two screens. With 6 worlds and 20 levels each (not counting the 8 in a 7th world or the secret exit levels or the bosses), the game has quite a bit of content even if someone were to run through the game and only die a reasonable number of times. The thing is, all of these levels become hours and hours of playtime per playthrough when you get stuck on them. The story isn’t much, but it really doesn’t need to be. For what it is, it’s just a funny little diversion in-between worlds. World 1 is pretty easy and helps ease you into how the game plays and what levels are going to be like, but starting in World 2, the difficulty curve starts to get steep (yet consistent) throughout the game. And each world adds a multitude of their own mechanics that are implemented very well. Collectibles and secret exits are craftily hidden or placed in certain levels (which, unfortunately, you can’t see in-game) and provide a slightly different way to tackle levels in order to get them if you want to.
The gameplay is extremely satisfying. The controls are tight, as you may have heard many times before. There are plenty of characters in the game, but Meat Boy himself not only can make it through every level himself…but personally I prefer him the most. The way he walljumps is just so dang fun. Practicing levels to be able to fly through them is extremely worthwhile when you finally make that perfect run of inputs and execution.
I can completely see people getting turned off by the difficulty in certain parts of the game. World 5 and the retro levels (that life system is so bad) usually feel like unenjoyable difficulty compared to the final world’s extreme difficulty still feeling worth going through. But that’s about it on my negativity for this game. If it looks up your alley, I say get it. If you’re afraid you might give up on it a ways in, I’d wait for a sale (which this game has plenty of) so you feel less bad about it. Regardless, I still think it’s worth trying out…and not only just to see what makes it so famous.

  U.S. Corps '42 is a challenging campaign, mired with scripts, spelling mistakes and gamebreaking scenario writing.
  
  I enjoy Panzer Corps, however this DLC is not very fun. The player has very little control over the missions. And, while continuously complimented by the big brass, actually gets addressed with suicide objectives (which change mid-scenario). One is outmanned, outgunned and outflown by enemy planes that appear out of thin air (due to the small maps).
  
  Prepare to save-scum through this chore\/campaign. Replaying whole scenario's, because of certain unexplained scripting one couldn't expect. It's a shame, for this is the very start of the 3 DLC U.S. Corps campaign. The later 2 DLC, which I have no intent on grabbing, are said to be even more difficult. I generally don't mind it, however, artificial difficulty (through scripts & limited control) is an abhorrence.
  
  This one is a NO from me. Get the Soviet DLC instead.. Fun campaign, scenarios are good and immersive. Felt like a race to Tunis then hitting a huge wall.
  
  
  Love the type of scripted events what with the Mateur counter-attack. The pop-up message adds a ton of drama surprisingly, and should be used for all these types of events. The trigger for this one (Mateur) however needs some work as it's too easy to cheese if you know the hexes to not cross then just wait it out and get a cheap marginal victory.<\/span><\/span>
  
  Some of the unit icons need updating. The M4A3 you can (and should) start off with incorrectly shows the 76mm gun while the M4A3E2(76) shows the short barrel.   One of the things that most war games lack is proper stat tracking. Yes, I like winning objectives and beating the game. There is some satisfaction there for sure. But tracking all of your units kill counts, battles, won objectives...those help tell you how you achieved glory. I also like the hero modifiers and medals. It adds a nice touch and contributes to immersion.
  
  This DLC is pretty cheap and like the German Grand Campaign, it tracks your units stats across all three DLC installments for the US forces. Great game. Looking forward to Panzer Corps II.. I really enjoy Panzer Corps, and the base game is fun- but the US Corps DLC is broken on many levels. Play balance is all kinds of messed up, I'm fairly certain there is a bug making German troops do ridiculous damage (eg A Kradschutzen - motorcycle infantry, doing 5-8 points of damage to the biggest tank on the US side) and the scenarios themselves are an exercise in frustration and overwhelming odds against. I've played the regular game and the Grand Campaign and never come across the bizarre unfairness in this DLC. Many times it feels as if the computer is outright cheating. Played and replayed the scenarios many times and it all feels like a slog, not very enjoyable. Stick to the Grand Campaign and the Soviet DLC...this one should be tossed in the trash.. Just what I was waiting for. I was getting tired of the slew of games aimed towards the eastern front and couldn't wait until the US forces were featured again. As a commander in chief of one of six nations, you will decide the fate of the world and what language we will be speaking? Would it be Yes, Ja, Da or Hai that the world will be referring for a positive answer?

Colonial conquest is a turn based strategy game set in the late 1800\u2019s. Upon choosing between France, Germany, Russia, England, USA and Japan, you will be presented with a map of the world. You will have four turns per year corresponding with the four seasons. For each country you acquire during the year, its economy will be added to your treasury just in time for spring.

How funny it is, that not only flowers rise in spring! - Armies do too, you know! Now it\u2019s time to purchase more troops and ships from your factories and plan your next move or you could build fortifications in the countries you already occupy. Hold on, make sure you have enough money to spy on the next country who will need to have language lessons. Maybe you will help other countries who might fall under your enemy by sending them money. Bribing is also an option but that will cost you a fair bit!

Unforeseen events during the year can help you or can go against you. The cost of the troops could be cheaper that year or you could lose 10% of revenue in certain countries, as an example. Many other things may occur in a year.

Great soundtrack, I really like the classical pieces in this game. They create a great atmosphere and put you in the mood for conquering the world.

Five levels of difficulties in regards to the AI, From Soldier to General. One thing you could do is invite five of your mates and see which nation will win (playing on one computer, as I did many moons ago playing the original game on my state of the art ATARI ST computer!!) MARVELLOUS MEMORIES!!

Colonial Conquest is very easy to play which makes this game extremely addictive and fun.

Even if it didn\u2019t measure up to my rose-coloured memories, I also harboured optimistic thoughts that it might play a little like a simplified version Victoria 2 in board game form.
What I actually got was a game more similar to a mobile port of RISK.
I realise that a few of the negative reviews have compared this game to RISK which is only partially accurate as there are some tactical considerations for terrain types and fortifications as well as about double the number of territories. But in the end if you have ever played RISK with players whose only strategy is to make a giant hoard and bust loose every few turns then you know how this game plays.
There is really only 1 type* of combat unit (Infantry) and every battle more or less becomes entirely dependent on who has the larger stack, (with only a small consideration for forts and terrain). *(Yes there are ships but they are really only used as transports for your 1 type of land unit; and this is made tactically dull as any coastal province connects to any other coastal province in only 1 turn.) So perhaps slightly more depth than RISK but certainly less than another board game classic like Axis & Allies.
The premise of managing an economy is also enacted too thinly as there are far too few things to spend your money on; infantry, ships, forts, or spies \u2013 that\u2019s it. The card collecting strategy in RISK has as much or more depth. Could we not have cavalry, artillery, fort upgrades, both transports and fighting ships, factory placements, research upgrades perhaps leading to aircraft?
Based on the current price of the game $7.99 USD \/ $10.99 Cdn compared to the play \/ replay value I cannot recommend this game.

Overall: 3\/10. Though the game may not be too complex which makes it easy to pick up and get into,the AI can be a challenge.The developers have fixed most if not all problems the moment they arise and are supporting the game well and of course more nations could be added to expand the game if they want.Great game would highly recommend for the cheap price too.. It looked like it should be fun, but wasn't. I hate to run down anyone's creative output, but this game just doesn't offer anything except a version of Risk that doesnt work as well as Risk does. It is simplistic like Risk (simplistic=too simple), then adds the concept of seasons and some other things, but the add-ons increase the tedious work of playing. Never enough boats to transport the troops, or else never enough troops for the huge amount of boats. Nothing happens unless it's Spring. There is no real strategy, just build massive piles of armies and easily (but in a protracted and tedious fashion) conquer the map. Meanwhile the computer AI will do silly things: playing as the USA, Japan kept invading South America while ignoring China\/Manchuria. Really? Japan wants Honduras so badly that they keep taking it over while I gobble up their backyard in Asia? I hate to be so negative, but this is barely an actual game. Compounding the problem is a huge quantity of territories, any one of which or small collection of which don't really matter. No territory is very important strategically. If you know Risk, you'll recall how you can block connections between continents and fortify them. In this game, you just build lots of ships and take over any random place on the board...and the computer does the same.

The graphics are attractive, and perhaps the game is simply someone else's cup of tea, but I would avoid.. I took the game on the off chance that I would spend a good half an hour on it before shelving it. I am now two hours into my first run through, playing Japan and hungrily eyeing the US West Coast...

I find the game easy to grasp, and have yet to make good use of the subtelties such as subversion and espionage. Would love to see the Minors having the ability to hit back somehow or asking for the protection of other Majors against the players or the AI :). Very good game, if u like risk (the board game) has a few glitches on which can be anoyying. like crashes if you make certain moves and also attacking your own army sometimes if you attack a place from multiple sides. also a few times stack of alot of troops changed to the enemy side after the provenance which they where attacking from got attacked in the same pharse and lost.
. Such a simple game that it gets repetive quickly. Simple combat, simple movement, simple development, etc. Other people have written that it is like Risk and it is. However, while Risk involves friends and semi-transparent alliances, this game offers nothing but building and moving armies around. No diplomacy. No alliances. Not even technological advances. If I had no other strategy games to choose from (late 80s), I would have loved this game, but I can't really get into it now. Too simple to be fun.. I think this game really could shine if there were some management challenges here, but as it turns out, all you do is move your troops and ships around conquering map tiles. Every year you have some income and can build more armies and ships. And that's it - every turn equals three months, and so you give move orders to the armies, and build more of them.

It's kinda like the classic "WAR" board game. Armies are stones, build more, throw them at the enemy, next turn, rinse and repeat. However much simpler. Actually, there is pratically nothing to do in the game besides building more armies (which in the game are mere numbers, say, 15 armies, 73 armies), and moving them around.

The sad thing is that this isn't all too bad if there were at least something more, like say cards, events, some province management, but ... no. That's just it.. A very fun strategy game. While this game isn't too in-depth I feel this is a positive point. We focus on conquering the world and not spending an hour on every battle. It is like playing a Total War game auto-resolving every battle and not having to build anything. As for those people that say you can't do anything but one turn a year, I say move your darn armies fools. My armies move every turn four times a year. At the start of every year I am buying more armies. Once the game gets going a bit I have two or three armies going conquering the world. Navies are purchasable too and will attack with your troops in certain instances as well as fighting other navies. I usually use them for dropping off troops on other continents and when not doing that bolstering the defenses of my homeland. Recruiting is done at two provinces of your starting areas so defending these are crucial. I enjoyed this game for what it is and it is fun and not impossible to get all the achievements in a reasonable time. If you are still not sure if you will like it buy it on sale and try it out.
